Subarctic tundra
vast ice covered wilderness
wee polar fox roams

Sub zero
Sub zero weather
freezes all it encircles
warm heart keeps beating
Excision
I am removing the barb
of your thorny thoughts
from under my skin,
healing the festering sliver
of untruth
that was penetrating
my mind.
Facade
Snow flurry façade
camouflages all in white
empty bottles buried
Lonesome Wind
Lonesome wind arrives
swift, silent, barely noticed
merriment indoors ignores
Happy New Year
December ending
fireworks light indigo sky
New Year promises
Hornets
Angry hornets fly
en masse swiftly defending
paper nest flutters
Swish
Blinding wet snow
obscures visibility
bright skiers swish by
Pretzel
Flexible yogi
bystander munches pretzel
salty serene smile
Nothing
Nothing.
How is it possible
that there is nothing?
Two days ago
the world was a place
of joy and wonder.
Two days ago
life was full of possibility.
Two days ago
you disappeared
and today
there is nothing.
