A very nice haiku, Mary. I like the “springtime sentries” notion. Was there a reason you chose to use the singular “tree”? I was thinking of the alliteration that might come with tulips, trees, sentries. Just an before coffee thought that might be erroneous. 🙂
I was thinking of the tulips that grew in our backyard beneath a large tree but I really like the difference adding an “s” to tree makes. Thank-you for the suggestion, Meghan!
