I enjoy the tanka format yet I am so often drawn to haiku; the discipline and succinctness of three lines really gets me to think about what is unnecessary in the poem. If you ever want to borrow any of my haiku and other Japanese poetry books just let me know. I am delighted to see you experimenting with these forms!
